David Bowie 'Ground Control to Davey Jones' painting

£400.00

Bowie about to be face cast in 1974 based on a screenshot from Cracked actor. This image is super-relevant to my artistic process being the genesis of the Bowie life masks which cemented my reputation in Bowie circles and were purchased by Bowie/Isolar for the official Bowie Archive. These now reside in the Bowie Archive at the V&A Storehouse East where they can be viewed. The title comes from the famous Cameron Crowe article for Rolling Stone written while the teenage Crowe was hanging out with Bowie in Los Angeles in 1974/5. This unique and unusual 14 × 10 x .75 inches / 36 × 26 × 2 centimetres piece would create a super-cool focus point in even the smallest space capsule. Painting is signed and dated on the reverse and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Free shipping applies.
